Self Portrait:Kahlil Ansari
This is my self portrait. It doesn't look like me but I imagined the idea that the most accurate way to represent myself would be to take a paintbrush and just paint, letting my subconscious take control of the final product.

The day I went to the High Museum of Art, I also went to Little Five Points, Atlanta to see my nephew, Jake, and get pictures of some graffiti. He helped us out a lot. While we were together I interviewed my nephew about his art. Jake plays in a band called the Nashvillains. This is a bluegrass group. They are great! I asked Jake why he does this and he responded, "I gotta' play." I guess that sums it up. Jake is a musician. He can play any instrument he chooses. He is a very talented young man. He also has juvenile diabetes and has no home. He is what he calls a "couch-hopper". He can do any lighting and sound job at any type of venue. But he loves music. Jake can sit on the street at Little Five Points and make fifty dollars per hour. He waits tables or does anything he can to earn a few bucks.

Applied Artist Interview
Jordan Andree:
Graphic designer/Web developer of
Kennesaw,GA.
Mandy: How old were you when you first designed a website?
Jordan: I was about 12 years old when I made my first website. It was... constructer88.homestead.com. That was seven years ago now.
Mandy: What made you want to get into graphic/web design?
Jordan: I've always liked art. And since I was 5 or 6 I've loved computers.
It made sense to work in a field that combined the two.
Mandy: What was your worst experience since you've been working as a
designer?
Jordan: When I was 18, I worked for a design agency.Their management was so bad that I was turned off from the graphic design and web development industry for a little while.
Mandy: What is your favorite thing to design?
Jordan: Right now, my favorite thing to design is band posters and announcements.
Mandy: What would you say is the most important thing you've learned so far from designing for clients?
Jordan: The most important thing is its not about money. Doing work because you like it is more gratifying.
Mandy: Who is your favorite designer?
Jordan: Scott Hansen, or he's also known as ISO50. The reason I like him is because he's very consistent and clean. His branding is in everything he designs.
Mandy: Where does your inspiration come from?
Jordan: Fellow designers. And things in nature that grab my attention. I also strive to be distinct and different. I don't want to be cut copy. I strive to be original.

Obsession-Richter
These babies are my obsession. I come from a very large family and pretty much everything I do revolves around these kids. The first picture is my nephew Levi, he's about nine months old now and crawling around everywhere. The next is of my nieces Morgan and Victoria. They are ten and six and keep me pretty busy. The next is of my baby Brock, he's the newest addition at only sixth months old, but quickly keeping up with Levi. And the last is of all the girls, Morgan, Kaley, Victoria, Ashley and Madison. I love my family and these kids are my obsession. =)

The self portrait I made represents all of the wonderful memories and memories to come I have experienced and will experience. The color scheme is green and red because Christmas is my favorite time of the year. The christmas carols, lights, plays, movies, music and decorations is what makes this time of the year my favorite holiday. On my the self portrait it says "I love... family, friends, Jesus, and my dog." These few words are so meaningful and are a part of my life everyday. Each word brings great memories and will continue to be in my everyday life to create more memories to come. This portrait explains the most important things in my everyday life.
