My blog is about Global warming. The blue side is the way the earth is now with pretty flowers, birds, and butterflies. If we continue this trend of putting harmful substances into the environment then the earth will look like the black side. The black side has dead leaves and it will eventually become night all the time with you just being able to see the moon.

On the outside of the box what you cant see is stickers of plants, animals and fish that will be affected in the future if global warming continues.

The topic of my diorama is global warming and the focus point is how it is affecting the polar bears. According to National Geographic they are predicting polar bears will be extinct in this century. Due to global warming the glaciers and ice shelves are melting quicker than researchers predicted. This affects the animals, specificly the polar bears, causing them to be stranded on the broken off icebergs and the distance to get on land is too far for them to swim. The polar bears, penguins, and many other animals that live in cold enviroments are on the way to be extinct and if the world continues to get warmer not only is it going to affect the animals in the cold areas but it will also affect everything else in the world (animals, plants, and people).

I created this diorama because I feel strongly about the war in Iraq. I dealt with this when my best friend's dad went away to Iraq for a year. I was living with her and her mom at that time and it was one of the hardest times ever. There were nights her mom would cry herself to sleep because her husband wasn't there with her and she would always wonder if he was going to come back alive. My best friend had some tough nights as well and the only thing I could do was be there for her and comfort her. I got to see full hand how it would be to have someone you love gone at war risking their life. As of now her 21 year old brother has gone to Iraq as well. Also my boyfriend is a Marine and will probably be deployed in a year or so. I hate that the soldiers have to be over there, yet they are doing it to help all of us out and risking their lives.

Since I moved into my dorm at West GA I have not been able to get adequate rest due to"noise pollution". Since this was an issue that I felt passionately about it seemed a good choice to make the topic of my diorama. In the making of my diorama I attempted to directly express my feelings on the issue rather than seeking complete accuracy. To do this I used a lot of bright and intense colors to illustrate intense feelings. The intense colors are overwhelming the more earthy ones showing my progression towards frustration...I hope my room mate does not read this.

I chose to do my diorama on the presidential election of 2008. I believe that the President of our country should be a strong man willing to make tough decisions. He should work well under pressure and understand the fundamentals of this country. I believe that everyone has a choice, therefore everyone that can, should vote. Because we are the future of this country, it is important to know what each candidate has to offer. I think as young people, we often cheat ourselves and don't take the time to research both parties and figure out what we believe. The purpose for me doing my diogram on the election is to encourage young people to get to know the different parties and make a clear choice based on what they think each man has to offer this country.

I did my diorama on the holocaust. It basically shows the Jews walking through the snow during winter. During the holocaust many Jews were forced to run many miles a day to get to the next concentration camps. Alot of them died during these long trips in the harsh winter. Many were sick and ill but still had to make the long journey to the next camp. And hopefully all of you will like my diorama.

I choose to make a Diorama about Beijing,China ridding its city of Hutongs to make room for the Olympics. (Hutongs are lanes with traditional Beijing courtyard homes.) More importantly, I made this diorama to show that hundreds of Beijing locals were displaced. Their homes bulldozed... leaving them with no where to go.
Using spaghetti noodle boxes and a yogurt cup I made a few buildings and " The Nest" stadium. I also crumbled cookies across the streets and grass to resemble the ruble from the Hutongs.
(annnnnd my shoebox is suppose to be just like a T.V.
